Layer Media Is Building a New Service for Parents: studyplaner
Layer Media has spent the last while building services that let people hand off repetitive management work to AI instead of doing it by hand. For Cafe24 and WordPress store and site owners, that meant an AI assistant that manages a site through plain language. For academy directors, it meant a full attendance, counseling, and staff management system. The idea has always been the same one, take the parts of running something that nobody enjoys doing by hand, and let AI carry that weight instead.
Now that same idea is being extended to parents. Layer Media is building a new service called studyplaner.
This is being built for parents who know that a childs school report card is not simple to read. Each subject is weighted differently, the achievement cutoffs are set individually by each school, and the grading scale itself now differs by grade level, so the same label on paper can mean a different standing depending on which year a student started school. With more than one child, a parent goes through this same process all over again for each of them. studyplaner is meant for parents who have felt that exact friction every time a new report card comes home.
The approach is to remove as much of the manual reading as possible. A parent takes a photo of the report card, and the AI reads and organizes it from there. Whatever format a particular school happens to use, the point is that nobody should have to relearn how to read it every time.
It is also being designed so that having more than one child does not mean paying more. Report cards only come out a couple of times a semester, so a monthly subscription did not make sense here, the plan is to charge only when the service is actually used. And this is not meant to be a monitoring tool. The goal is to give parents and children the same information to look at together, rather than a way to check on a child from a distance.
studyplaner is still in active development right now. Testing is underway on how accurately the AI reads real report cards, and the interface is still being refined. There is no launch date to share yet. The next update will be posted here on the blog once there is one.
Layer Media has built for online store owners, site owners, and academy directors so far, each a different audience with a different problem. studyplaner is simply the next one, built on the same idea, letting AI carry the repetitive work so people do not have to.
